Construction Underway on Courtenay Place

As you may already be aware, Wellington City Council is working on a new pedestrian crossing between Cambridge and Kent Terrace. This may have an impact on members that use the crossing outside the Embassy Theatre.

On Monday 28 April, Wellington City Council held its groundbreaking ceremony with work to begin in earnest in early May. The construction is expected to last eight months.

For most of this time, the pedestrian crossing will remain accessible with the exception of short periods for which it will be clearly signposted. Motorists will be unable to turn right from Cambridge Terrace into Majoribanks Street between 9am and 4pm on weekdays. As our screenings are outside this time, we hope disruption will be minimal.
