Just like old times, WFS is pleased to announce that its regular social events are returning for 2025.
We have planned these events to correspond with some of our shorter films. We hope that this will allow some members to come along after the 6pm screening and others to pop in before the 8.30pm screening.
These dates are as follows:
- 28 April, between the screenings of Suspiria – Dave Summerfield will explore Argento’s work
- 19 May, between the screenings of The Crossing
- 9 June, between the screenings of Rashomon
- 28 July, between the screenings of Polyester (our last screening before we take a break for NZIFF)
- 22 September, between the screenings of La Chinoise
- 6 October, between the screenings of A Ghost Story
- 17 November, between the screenings of Victims of Sin
We’ve already had some wonderful events so far in 2025:
- 17 March, between the screenings of Cleo from 5 to 7
We have booked our regular space from 7.30pm on these evenings so, once you exit the theatre, you can make like Bruce Lee and Enter the Dragon* for a drink, some kai and talk shop with your fellow film-lovers.
*In this case, the Welsh Dragon Bar directly opposite the Embassy Theatre!
